Responsible consumption is a behavioural model that takes into account and analyses the environmental and social justice impacts of everyday consumption and purchasing choices.

In terms of food, a “responsible consumer” who favours products that are good for the planet, but also short circuit and producers who meet certain moral and standards. They buy products and services not based solely on economic criteria, but considering a number of factors such as:

• Healthiness and quality of the food
• The environmental footprint of the production and distribution processes
• Labor’s conditions and payment
• Packing materials
