As part of the VOICE Project, which aims to strengthen the digital and employability skills of both Ukrainian refugees and members of host communities, IWS delivered three face-to-face training sessions, engaging a total of 53 participants. The sessions were attended by local students preparing to enter the labour market and were designed to equip them with practical digital and professional competences to enhance their employability, career prospects, and readiness for today's evolving world of work.
The training programme focused on equipping participants with the skills needed to confidently navigate today's increasingly digital job market. Two of the three groups attended sessions covering key topics for job seekers, including:
- Creating an effective and professional CV.
- Using social media strategically for networking and job searching.
- Cybersecurity awareness, with practical guidance on protecting personal information and staying safe while searching for jobs and communicating online.
The third group explored digital tools and strategies that are particularly valuable for young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme focused on helping participants:
- Identify job opportunities through social media platforms and professional networks.
- Develop effective digital communication skills to strengthen their professional and business presence.
- Understand how startup support services and strategic use of social media can contribute to business growth and career development.
- Build a strong online presence by learning the basics of website creation and digital marketing.
These training activities reflect the wider mission of the VOICE Project by bringing together people from different backgrounds in face-to-face learning environments. This approach encourages social inclusion, fosters intercultural dialogue, and strengthens community ties, while helping Ukrainian refugees integrate more successfully into their host countries.
The face-to-face sessions also serve to pilot and validate the 13 training courses developed by the VOICE consortium. All of these courses are freely available through the VOICE OER Platform, providing open access to high-quality learning materials for anyone interested in developing digital and employability skills. Learners can complete the courses at their own pace and, after successfully passing the competency assessment, receive a certificate recognising the skills they have acquired.
Through its combination of in-person training and freely accessible online learning resources, VOICE contributes to building more inclusive communities while improving access to education, digital competences, and employment opportunities for refugees and local citizens alike.
