GREEN TOUR Launches Its Digital Hub: A New European Platform for Green Skills in Sustainable Tourism

The GREEN TOUR consortium is pleased to announce the launch of the GREEN TOUR Digital Hub, the project's official online platform, now available at: https://www.projectgreentour.eu

This milestone marks one of the first major achievements of the GREEN TOUR project – Green Skills for Sustainable Tourism – a 36-month Erasmus+ cooperation initiative co-funded by the European Union and dedicated to strengthening green competences within the tourism sector, with a particular focus on coastal destinations.

A Platform for Learning, Collaboration and Dissemination
The GREEN TOUR Digital Hub will serve as the project's central platform for communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement. Throughout the project, it will progressively host news, publications, project results, training resources, events and opportunities for collaboration.

The platform already includes dedicated sections presenting the project partnership, objectives, activities and latest news. It also features a Community section, where organisations and stakeholders can express their interest in joining the future GREEN TOUR Network, a European community of practice that the consortium aims to establish to foster cooperation, knowledge exchange and long-term collaboration among Higher Education Institutions, tourism stakeholders and other organisations interested in green skills for sustainable tourism.

Research Activities Underway
Alongside the development of the platform, project partners have recently completed national desk research activities investigating the current state of green skills among tourism practitioners operating in coastal areas. They have also mapped and analysed good practices in cooperation and co-creation between Higher Education Institutions and tourism stakeholders, identifying successful approaches that may inform and inspire subsequent project activities aimed at supporting a more sustainable tourism sector through innovative and co-created training solutions.

The consortium is currently consolidating these findings into a European study that will soon be published on the GREEN TOUR Digital Hub in multiple languages. The study will provide valuable insights into skills needs, emerging trends and opportunities for strengthening the contribution of higher education to sustainable tourism development.

We invite all interested stakeholders to visit the platform and follow the project's progress:

Stay tuned for upcoming results, resources and opportunities to join the growing GREEN TOUR community.
