About the project

The SELF project (Solo Entrepreneur Learning Framework) was created to respond to structural changes in the labor world, accelerated after the COVID-19 era, where the concept of "solopreneurship" has gained unprecedented prominence. Based on the European EntreComp framework, the project's fundamental goal is to support the entrepreneurial competencies of higher education students.

Client needs

As technological partners of the project led by the University of Malaga (UMA), the challenge was to create an infrastructure that not only informed but educated. Key needs included:

• Dual digital aspect: a public side for disseminating results and a private content management area.
• Complex content management: a system that allowed organizing educational modules, downloadable resources, and interactive tools.
• European standards: Complying with accessibility, transparency, and security requirements demanded by the Erasmus+ program.

Our solution

Unlike pre-made solutions, we developed solobiz.eu (SELF) as a fully custom-programmed platform, adapted to the consortium's pedagogical methodologies:

• Ad Hoc Development: programming the web architecture from scratch, ensuring a lightweight platform with no third-party dependencies and fully scalable.
• Private management panel: we created a powerful custom backend so project managers can administer training content, users, and resources autonomously.
• Virtual Learning Environment (LMS): implementing a student area where content is presented in a structured way, facilitating self-learning and module tracking.
• Innovation partner: our participation as official partners allowed us to integrate the technical vision from the project's design phase, ensuring that technology served the educational goals of the University of Malaga.
